Arab and Muslim states condemn Ben-Gvir over abuse and torture of flotilla detainees Foreign ministers from several Arab and Muslim-majority countries have condemned Israel’s National Security Minister Itamer Ben Gvir over his treatment of Gaza-bound flotilla participants in detention. In a joint statement, the ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar described the actions of Itamar Ben-Gvir as “appalling, degrading and unacceptable”. The statement, shared on social media, said his conduct amounted to a “deliberate public humiliation” of detainees and violated Israel’s obligations under international humanitarian and human rights law.
