Araghchi, Trump hold calls with regional leaders Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held phone calls with his regional counterparts in Egypt, Qatar and Oman ahead of an anticipated decision over a proposal for an end to the war with the US. Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported on Saturday that Araghchi spoke to Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, which follows earlier reports that the Iranian foreign minister spoke to his counterparts from Qatar and Oman as well. Reuters and Axios reported that Trump was expected to talk to leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan, with Al Jazeera reporting that the talks have likely taken place in the Oval Office.
