Bahrain backs UN resolution on Strait of Hormuz security and navigation Bahrain’s ambassador to the United Nations, Jamal Alrowaiei, has voiced support for a draft Security Council resolution aimed at safeguarding shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking at the UN, Alrowaiei said the proposal, co-sponsored by the US and Gulf countries, seeks to reinforce maritime security in the key waterway. “The draft resolution calls for Iran to immediately cease all attacks and threats against merchant and commercial vessels,” he said.
