The disorder was triggered by a knife attack on Monday allegedly carried out by a Sudanese asylum seeker, who has been charged with attempted murder. Hadi Alodid, a 30-year-old granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK, allegedly attacked a man on a residential street with a knife in what many commentators have described as an attempted beheading.
