CENTCOM says more than 50,000 US troops now in region

CENTCOM says more than 50,000 US troops now in region US Central Command said more than 50,000 American troops are now deployed across the region in some capacity, Al Jazeera reported. The deployment includes around 200 combat aircraft and two aircraft carriers. It also includes 1,000 troops from the 82nd Airborne Division, along with two Marine Expeditionary Units made up of about 5,000 Marines and sailors heading to the region.
