Church of England votes to hear Palestinian Christians on Israeli genocide in Gaza Submitted by Elis Gjevori on Tue, 07/14/2026 - 12:35 The motion came despite objections from pro-Israel groups over language used in the document Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, stands with young altar servers during Sunday morning mass at the Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Family in Gaza City on 20 July 2025 (Omar Al Qattaa/AFP) Off The Church of England has voted to listen to Palestinian Christians, resisting pressure from pro- Israel organisations to dismiss their testimony before the Church could formally hear it. The General Synod, the Church’s legislative body, backed an amended motion on Monday urging congregations and institutions across England to “hear” and engage with testimonies produced by the group Kairos Palestine . The Kairos document describes Israel as a “colonial enterprise” that has inflicted a “genocidal war on Gaza”.
