Lebanon president says Hezbollah ban on military activities ‘irreversible’ Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun said on Tuesday that the decision to prohibit Hezbollah’s military activities is “irreversible”, as the group claimed fresh attacks on Israeli positions. The attacks come as Israel has violated the November 2024 ceasefire hundreds of times, killing hundreds of civilians and entrenching its occupation in southern Lebanon. Aoun described the move as “final” during talks with members of the Quintet — a diplomatic group comprising the French, US, Qatari, Saudi and Egyptian ambassadors.
