Trump administration considers armed escorts for oil and gas tankers in Strait of Hormuz: Report The Trump administration is considering providing armed escorts for tankers carrying oil and gas through the Strait of Hormuz, according to a Politico report on Tuesday.   An Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps official said on Monday that Iran would "set ablaze" any vessels travelling through the Strait of Hormuz. The world's largest insurers have already cancelled war-risk coverage for the area.
