Egyptian President urges diplomacy in call with Trump and regional leaders Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called for a diplomatic agreement to end current tensions with Iran and prevent renewed escalation during a phone call with US President Donald Trump and several Middle Eastern leaders, according to a statement from Egypt’s presidency. The call included Abdullah II, Mohammed bin Salman, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. El-Sisi stressed the need to seize what he called the available diplomatic window for a peaceful settlement and said Egypt would continue working with regional partners to support negotiations.
