Emergency services on alert in Iran's earthquake-hit Khuzestan Iranian authorities have put emergency services on alert in Khuzestan province, which was hit by a magnitude 5 earthquake this morning. Khuzestan governor, Seyed Mohammad Reza Mowlaizadeh, said he has issued the “necessary instructions for the full mobilisation of rescue and operational forces”, Al Jazeera reported. Mowlaizadeh said no casualties or significant financial damage had yet been reported in the region, and official teams were assessing the situation.
