The activists, who were detained in international waters while sailing to Gaza as part of the Global Sumud Flotilla, dismissed Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper’s claims that she had been in touch with their families. Their families told Middle East Eye that repeated calls and emails to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) had been met with automated responses and that they had “got nothing” from the government department throughout their ordeal.
