Gaza journalists work from tents after Israel destroys media offices Between 60 and 75 percent of journalists in Gaza have lost their homes or been forcibly displaced since October 7, 2023, according to the Freedoms Committee of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate. In a report titled “Media without walls”, the committee said about 265 journalists have been killed since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza, making it one of the deadliest conflicts for media workers anywhere in the world. It said Israel’s attacks have destroyed more than 80 percent of media offices and institutions, either fully or partially, causing an “almost complete collapse” of Gaza’s journalistic infrastructure.
