Houthis say they shot down Saudi surveillance aircraft Yemen’s armed group, the Houthis, said on Tuesday that they shot down a Saudi Arabian surveillance aircraft after hostilities erupted between the group and the Saudi-backed Yemeni government on Monday. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the fighters “succeeded in shooting down an enemy Saudi Wing Loong II reconnaissance aircraft while it was carrying out hostile missions at dawn today over Al-Bayda Governorate in the centre of the country.
