Iran demands sovereignty over Hormuz in counterproposal to US Iran, in its counterproposal to end the conflict with the United States and Israel, is demanding full compensation for war damage, the lifting of all sanctions and recognition of Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, according to reports by Iranian state media. Press TV and IRIB said the proposal also called for the release of frozen Iranian assets and was delivered to Washington through Pakistani mediators on Sunday. US President Donald Trump later rejected the response, writing on Truth Social that it was “totally unacceptable”.
