Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the country's top joint military command, said the attacks were launched in response to US "aggression in southern Iran". In a statement carried by Iranian state media, the military command warned that "heavier and broader" attacks would follow if Washington continued military operations against Iran.
