Israeli court extends detention of Gaza hospital director without charge An Israeli court has approved the continued detention of Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza, without filing charges. According to Physicians for Human Rights, the Beersheba District Court upheld his detention under the “Unlawful Combatants Law” and rejected a request for his release. The Israeli non-governmental organisation said Dr Abu Safiya is being held in harsh conditions and denied medical care.
