Israeli forces escalate detentions of Palestinian students during exams A prisoner advocacy group has reported a surge in Israeli detentions of school children across the occupied West Bank during secondary school examinations. The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) reported that since the start of the examination period four Tawjihi (General Secondary Education Certificate Examination) students had been detained by the Israeli army, including one held in administrative detention. The society emphasised that Tawjihi- exams taken at the conclusion of secondary school- is the most important stage in the students' education and that the detentions are intended to disrupt it and undermine the students' ability to access higher education.
