Israeli minister urges Netanyahu to ‘level Beirut suburbs to the ground’ Itamar Ben Gvir, Israel’s far-right national security minister, posted a video calling on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “level the southern suburbs in Beirut to the ground” as fighting with Hezbollah intensifies. Posting on Instagram, Ben-Gvir said he had opposed the previous ceasefire with Lebanon and urged stronger military action against Beirut’s southern suburbs, an area where Hezbollah has a significant presence.
