Italian prosecutors open investigation into kidnapping of Gaza flotilla activists
Italian prosecutors open investigation into kidnapping of Gaza flotilla activists Prosecutors in Rome have opened an investigation into the capture and detention of two people who were on board the Gaza-bound aid flotilla after complaints were filed to the court, Italian media reported on Monday. The kidnapped activists are currently imprisoned in Israel after they were seized by Israeli forces over international waters on a boat which was flying the Italian flag, an act that many have labelled as “piracy”. An Israeli court on Sunday ordered for the detention of the two activists, who are Spanish and Brazilian nationals, to be extended for two days.
