Lebanon army chief holds UK talks on ceasefire and border security Lebanon’s army says its commander, Major General Rodolphe Haykal, has held talks with senior British defence and security officials during a visit to the United Kingdom. The army said the discussions focused on “ways to support the army and enhance cooperation between the two sides”. It added that the meetings also covered “the challenges facing the army in the context of peacekeeping and stability missions and border protection” and “how to achieve a sustainable ceasefire in Lebanon”.
