Lebanon, Israel and US hold three-way-call, agree to meeting on Tuesday Lebanon and Israel made contact for the first time via a phone call between their ambassadors in Washington on Friday, along with the US ambassador to Lebanon. A statement from Lebanon’s presidency said that the call formed part of diplomatic efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire with Israel and added that both sides agreed to hold a meeting on Tuesday at the US State Department, mediated by the US. This comes as US and Iranian officials are due to meet in Islamabad for peace talks, after Iran stated the need for Lebanon’s inclusion in any agreement reached.
