Lebanon’s president says he will do ‘impossible’ to end war with Israel
Lebanon’s president says he will do ‘impossible’ to end war with Israel Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said on Monday he would do the “impossible” to stop Israel’s war on Lebanon, as Israeli strikes continued despite a ceasefire and direct talks between the two sides. Aoun said Lebanon’s negotiating framework rests on Israeli withdrawal, a ceasefire, the deployment of the Lebanese army along the border, the return of displaced residents, and economic assistance. “My duty… is to do the impossible, and to choose what is least costly, in order to stop the war against Lebanon and its people,” he said.
