Macron: told Iranian President ceasefire must be ‘fully respected’ and include Lebanon French President Emmanuel Macron said that he just spoke to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and told him of the importance of ensuring that the ceasefire with the United States is fully respected and that any deal includes Lebanon. “I emphasised the need for Iran to swiftly restore freedom and security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz as quickly as possible, to which France stands ready to contribute,” he added in a post on X, after Iran’s blockade caused global oil prices to surge. Macron also stressed France’s full support to the Lebanese authorities, who “alone are legitimate to exercise the sovereignty of the State and decide the destiny of Lebanon.
