Multinational talks held on restoring navigation through Hormuz
Multinational talks held on restoring navigation through Hormuz Defence ministers and representatives from more than 40 countries held talks on Monday regarding military contributions to a European-led mission to escort commercial vessels and restore maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. The discussions took place remotely amid growing tensions in the region and increasing concerns over the security of one of the world’s most important shipping routes. Officials said the meeting was the first of its kind at the defence minister level within the framework of the multinational mission focused on protecting commercial shipping and ensuring freedom of navigation through the strait.
