Netanyahu blames social media for declining US support for Israel Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said declining support for Israel in the United States since the war in Gaza began was closely linked to the rise of social media and what he described as effective disinformation campaigns. Speaking to CBS News programme “60 Minutes”, Netanyahu said Israel had taken extensive steps to move civilians in Gaza and Lebanon away from combat zones, but argued that anti-Israel campaigns online had been highly effective. According to a March survey by Pew Research Center, 60 percent of US adults hold an unfavourable view of Israel, while 59 percent expressed little or no confidence in Netanyahu to do the right thing in world affairs.
