Qatar seeks to strengthen defence pact with US, foreign ministry spokesman says Qatar wants to strengthen its defence partnership with the US in the wake of Iranian attacks on the coutnry, the foreign ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday. The spokesperson, Majed al-Ansari, told a media briefing that the security partnership with Washington was not in question, but added that deals with Europe and the US need to be strengthened. "The partnerships are the main stop-gap and deterrent against any attack on our country," he said.
