Report: Israeli settlers seize near-total control of Ramallah village land
Report: Israeli settlers seize near-total control of Ramallah village land More than 4,700 of the 4,800 dunams of land in the Palestinian village of Um al-Safa, west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, have been confiscated, Al Jazeera reported, as Israeli settlers expand outposts and infrastructure on the village's land. The village, whose population is fewer than 1,000 people, has seen settlers uproot olive trees that residents depend on for their livelihoods, according to the report. Settlers arrived on motorcycles and in cars after bringing in a bulldozer to begin levelling Palestinian land for a road linking settlement outposts, including one established recently, the network said.
