Tehran cites UN Charter in defending missile attacks Iran’s foreign ministry said the country’s recent strikes on military targets in northern Israel were carried out under its right to self-defence as outlined in Article 51 of the UN Charter, arguing that the action followed repeated Israeli violations of a ceasefire agreement. In a statement, the ministry accused Israel of breaching the truce through attacks on Iranian interests and alleged cooperation with the United States in operations against Iranian ships and targets. It also said the ceasefire in Lebanon forms part of the broader agreement and accused Washington of bearing responsibility for Israeli actions.
