UAE blocking Algerians from evacuation flight: Report Authorities in the United Arab Emirates prevented Algerian nationals from boarding an evacuation flight as regional tensions escalated, according to the Algerian daily El Khabar The newspaper said Emirati officials stopped members of Algeria’s community from boarding a flight operated by Air Algéerie as foreign nationals sought to leave Gulf countries amid ongoing Israeli-US war on Iran. The report described the move as an “unjustified hostile act”, coming at a time when relations between Algiers and Abu Dhabi have already been strained in recent years. “What the Emirati authorities have done is a totally irresponsible act which contravenes the requirements of international law and the norms of consular cooperation in times of international crises and conflicts,” said Hicham Benhaddad, a former rapporteur of the foreign affairs committee of Algeria’s National People’s Assembly.
