UK deploys anti-drone system on RAF jets in Middle East The United Kingdom said it has deployed a new “low-cost anti-drone system” on Royal Air Force fighter jets operating in the Middle East. In a statement, the British government said the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System, or APKWS, would be fitted to RAF Eurofighter Typhoon jets to destroy targets “precisely and at a fraction of the price of missiles currently used”. The deployment comes after months of regional attacks in which Iran launched drones and missiles at Gulf countries, targeting energy infrastructure and military sites as part of the broader conflict in the region.
