UN calls for probe into killing of journalists in Israeli strikes Israeli strikes on 28 March killed Ali Shoeib, a correspondent for Hezbollah’s Al-Manar, along with Al-Mayadeen reporter Fatima Ftouni and her cameraman brother Mohammed as they covered fighting in southern Lebanon. The United Nations human rights office said the killings must be “promptly, fully and independently investigated by an international body”. Israel’s military said, without providing evidence, that Shoeib was targeted as a Hezbollah intelligence operative.
