US begins using British bases to target Iran's missile sites Britain's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced that the "United States has started using British bases for specific defensive operations to prevent Iran firing missiles into the region, which is putting British lives at risk". It said Royal Air Force jets are continuing to be involved in defensive operations throughout the region "in defence of British interests and allies".
