Video: Senior Iranian official rules out Trump-Khamenei meeting Mohsen Rezaei, a senior military adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, said negotiations with the United States are currently at a standstill and ruled out the possibility of a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Mojtaba Khamenei, according to an interview with CNN. Rezaei said Washington must release $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets as a “test of trust” to move negotiations forward, arguing that the funds belong to Iran. He also warned that if the naval blockade remains in place and military hostilities continue, Iran could expand the conflict beyond the Gulf region into the Indian Ocean, Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea, including by targeting additional US military bases.
