WHO says war on Iran disrupting $18m in humanitarian health supplies The World Health Organization said humanitarian shipments have been disrupted due to insecurity, airspace closures and restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz, adding that it is exploring possible land routes as alternatives. Dr. Hanan Balkhy, the WHO’s regional director for the eastern Mediterranean, said the disruption is blocking access to $18 million worth of humanitarian health supplies, while another eight million dollars in shipments cannot reach the regional hub.
