CAIRO, 9th July, 2026 (WAM) -- The League of Arab States strongly condemned the Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain and Kuwait, which also affected Jordan, stressing that they constitute a violation of the sovereignty of Arab states and of international law. In a statement issued today, the Arab League warned that the continued Iranian escalation threatens regional security and stability.
IRNA says Bushehr military site hit by US-Israel strike, denies reports of Bandar Abbas explosions Citing a Bushehr official, Iran’s IRNA news agency reported that a military site on the outskirts of Bushehr province was hit by a US-Israeli projectile, adding that the explosion sound in the city was caused by the air defence response. The government broadcasting agency also denied earlier indications of explosions in Bandar Abbas previously reported by Iran’s Mehr news agency.
US reportedly not conducting strikes on Iran CNN reported on Thursday that the US military was not responsible for carrying out the strikes in Iran in the past few hours. Al Jazeera also cited a US official confirming that the US is not involved in the latest strikes. However, there has so far been no statement from the Pentagon to confirm or deny their military involvement in the strikes.
Source of explosion in Bushehr under investigation, governor says The governor of Bushehr confirmed that explosions were heard over Bushehr, where one of Iran’s nuclear plants is located, on Thursday, Iran’s IRNA news agency reported. “Whether the sound heard was from the defence of the armed forces, an enemy projectile hitting the areas, or an enemy drone being targeted is still under investigation, and its definitive cause has not yet been determined,” he told the news agency.
